Government Women’s Polytechnic College had first opened its doors in 1986 in Alkapuri area of Udaipur. In 1997 the college was shifted in its own building situated at Pratapnagar in Udaipur, a World Bank Project.
At the time of commencement of college the intake capacity was of 60 students only, which has increased to 120 at present. The eligibility criteria for admission is 10th pass and above in any discipline. This college is governed by BOARD OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION, RAJASTHAN, JODHPUR.

Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Udaipur aims to increase the regions competitiveness by preparing diploma holders to move directly into professional and technical careers and to become ethical leaders in their professional, public and personal lives.

Minimum Qualification for admission
- Minimum qualification is Secondary or equivalent qualification or higher qualification
- Maximum upper age limit is 27 years.
- Age relaxation of 10 year in the case of widow and divorcee women candidates in upper age limit and 5 years age relaxation for scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students in upper age limit.
